Growing the team of Family Life Spain

It was July 2020 and we had just finished up our end of the year lunch with fellow Ágape staff in Barcelona. Ágape's national director, Nacho Marques, was visiting from Valencia to help us say good-bye to a fellow staff couple that was leaving staff to serve God in the secular world. With their departure, there was a big hole left in the leadership of Family Life, Agape Spain's ministry to married couples and families which we call De Familia a Familia or Dfaf.

"Jill, could I talk with you for a minute?" Nacho asked. "Because of your love for building teams and your passion for developing leaders, I thought you would be the best person to rally a handful of couples  and build a team to reach married couples and families in Spain." I was surprised but motivated by the challenge and so, I said, "yes" to the opportunity.

18 months later, God has raised up one of those couples as a "key couple" to spearhead initiatives that will not only reach and minister to married couples, but will also help to identify and mobilize other key couples who want to make disciples who will make disciples.

Daniel Sanmartin comes to Ágape with years of experience as a seminary professor and a big heart to make the Bible relevant and practical for people's lives. He also knows what it's like in the professional world, having worked as a sales rep for Seat for several years.

Raquel is a primary school teacher and a psychopedagogue, which is an expert who addresses the  behavior of people, paraents and kids, as well as treating psychic phenomena. She helps to improve the educational system by providing adjustments in the didactic and pedagogical methods at school. She focuses on students and their environment since the environment is essential for the success of the process. Raquel has a huge heart for the Lord and uses her training to speak with authority to parents in order to help them understand their roles in helping their kids learn, at school and at home.

It seems that God has prepared Daniel and Raquel for this moment in time as he joins staff with DFAF and she serves as a key volunteer. It seems that God has raised up Dani and Raquel, just like He raised up Elijah... "to turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents;" (Malachi 4:6)

Please pray for Dani and Raquel as they make this transition for Dani to join staff. (Raquel will continue to teach at her primary school and serve as a key volunteer with DFAF.)

1. Pray that God will solidify Dani's  financial support team by the end of this year so that he can start wiht focus and energy at the beginning of 2022.

2. Pray that God would open doors for DFAF with key pastors and churches who want to partner with DFAF in helping to nurture and strengthen the married couples and families at their churches.

3. Pray that God would raise up other key volunteers to join with us in this challenge to support and equip marriages and families while pointing them to Jesus.
