Right Mind. Right Results.

For decades (if not centuries) in Spain, the the perspective on giving financially toward God's Work has been a difficult pill to swallow even by many Christians.
For many Spanish missionaries, the idea of support raising is equal to begging for alms and living on less than enough.  As a result, many of our staff struggle financially, which in the long run also hinders their personal ministries.

However, in October I went to Málaga with our newest staff in Spain to listen to their presentations of their personal ministries. The small room was filled with several of our bright new staff who are trusting God to meet their financial needs so they can use their FULL-TIME to take the gospel to others who don't know Christ.

I got goosebumps. There was an eagerness stirring in me as i listened to David and Ellen share about how God had called them into ministry and the profound effect the gospel had on one of their neighbors. I am still overwhelmed and amazed by God and His plans....how He calls us and how he recruits us and works through us to bless others!

This training time was designed to equip and encourage staff to share their stories and their dreams of what they long to see God do in the lives of the people they are trying to reach. While extensive and practical MINISTRY PARTNER DEVELOPMENT (MPD) Training has been an important and regular part of staff training for many missions agencies in the U.S. decades, Agape Spain has only just recently begun to develop and expand its practical training to equip staff to raise their financial support and prayer support.

María Juan, Spanish staff leader from Valencia, led the exercises, guiding and advising the staff to keep Christ first and to honor the supporters as co-team members in the gospel.

Just this week María sent an update on the status of these new staff and their support raising efforts. God has provided additional support for each of them.  They took steps of faith and have seen God answer!
This is just the beginning. As one "class" of new staff after another join Agape, the mindset and attitude within our organization toward support-raising will shift from trusting in man to trusting in God.
