Faithful In the Little Things

Brittany Pulda will be coming to work with us this year in the city of Málaga. She is from the U.S., Racine, Wisconsin to be exact. She is 22 years old and she´s a university student. She has taken a break this year from her double major in Spanish and Business. She loves sports and loves to sing. her passions include praise and worship music and evangelism.

Brittany says,
"In the time that I have been in Málaga visiting, the Lord has done some impressive things. I have met a lot of students and I´ve made a lot of friends. Each day God is giving me the opportunity to speak about why I´m in Málaga and, the most important, He gives me opportunities to share my faith.
At this moment, I´m working with the team that focuses on students in Málaga. We want to see God glorified and see students come to know him personally. We have a group of Christian students at the university and we can see that a spiritual movement is starting. God is working in Málaga.
An example of how God is working is the case of Elizabeth. We met while I was doing some surveys. She told me that she is a Christian and she wants to learn to share her faith. Praise God! The Lord is always faithful!"
Brittany plans to return this winter to continue her partnership with the Student team. In order to do this, she´ll need a religious visa. It is such a small detail, really, but the process of getting a visa can make or break the entry of missionaries in Spain. In this bureaucracy-heavy culture, paperwork can get way-laid at any of the dozens of steps along the way. The reality is that obtaining a visa in Spain is not only an administrative task but at times it´s a spiritual battle.

In addition to coaching staff in their financial support raising, I oversee the administrative task of the visa application process for foreigners that come to work with Agape Spain. For several years, the responsibility had been left to each foreign missionary to obtain his own visa. However, after lost applications, missed deadlines and ongoing confusion with the changing immigration laws, Agape looked for assistance and found it in FEREDE, the Federation of Evangelical Entities in Spain. I work closely with one of FEREDE´s lawyers to ensure that our foreign staff are able to return legally to work in Spain as missionaries.

Thank you for helping me be available to Brittany so that she can be available to the students in Málaga. As a result of your partnership, we are making it possible for Brittany, and other staff like her, to obtain a religious visa so that they can be one more source of salt and light in a culture that is desperately looking for and longing for hope.


Please pray for Brittany´s visa application. We are half way through the process and hope to hear something from Spain´s Ministry of Justice in the next 6 weeks.

Meet the Monkey on Mondays!

Every week, heck, every day God is working in our lives....but how aware are we? How have you seen Him show up this week? One struggle in communicating regularly was related to the "slow" nature of ministry. Sometimes, it is hard to see what God is doing. One rationale that dominated  my thinking is that maybe it is that God is working much more slowly here, so rather share news each month, I may have to wait, 6, 9, 12 months to have a story to tell. However, as I make this shift to share a "blip" from each day, it has revolutionized the way I see God's work here, in my personal life and in ministry. A specific tool I am using to deliver my messages and stories to you across the ocean is MailChimp, an email marketing platform online; and, although I am sure that I am not getting nearly as much out of MailChimp as I could, but just the fact to be getting any news out at all is a big step for me. Immigrant moms advancing together

An American, a Brazilian, a Spaniard and 9 Moroccan women walk into a neighborhood center....it sounds like the beginning of a joke, right? God has a great sense of humor! Let me tell you how this story works out.... My church in Spain has an amazing outreach ministry in a city neighborhood highly populated by Moroccan immigrants. While immigration has increased globally, Catalunya has one of the highest percentages of immigration world-wide.  This drastic and relatively rapid change is historic and also traumatic for a Spanish system that is not prepared to receive so many immigrants. We personally have seen the burdening effects of immigration in our schools, at our hospitals and in our neighborhoods.  Many of those who come from Morocco are the poorest of the poor. They arrive looking for work and a better life. They come without having learned the language.
